Former IAS officer Jayaprakash Narayan has made notable remarks regarding former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent dharna in Delhi, where he demanded the imposition of President’s rule in Andhra Pradesh. In an interview with RTV, Jayaprakash Narayan commented on the current political situation in the state, asserting that the rule of law in India is deficient and monopolized by a few.
Jayaprakash Narayan stated, “People allege that undemocratic rule has prevailed in Andhra Pradesh over the last five years. There is a pressing need to reform investigation methods, police operations, and other administrative departments.” He contrasted the current state of affairs with the regime of Rajasekhar Reddy, which he said showed a balance between welfare and development. “In the last five years, we have seen none of that,” Jayaprakash Narayan added.
He attributed the public’s rejection of Jagan’s government to mismanagement and a mafia-like regime that disregarded public interest. Jayaprakash Narayan emphasized that it is premature to make allegations against the new government, which has been in power for less than a month. “Jagan’s claims are largely political rather than substantive,” he noted.
Jayaprakash Narayan urged current leaders to heed the lessons from past governance and implement necessary changes. For a more detailed analysis, watch the full interview with Jayaprakash Narayan in the video below.
