Vijayawada: Former Andhra Pradesh Intelligence Chief AB Venkateswara Rao launched a scathing attack on YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, calling him the “greatest danger to Andhra society and democracy.” In a sharp critique of the previous administration, Rao alleged that the state witnessed widespread institutional and societal destruction during Jagan’s five-year tenure.
“We have directly witnessed the devastation caused by Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule. Rebuilding from that damage will be a long and difficult process,” Rao stated, addressing the media.
He alleged that the YSRCP was built on “crime, murder, corruption, suppression, and caste-based politics.” Describing the former Chief Minister as a divisive figure, he said, “Jagan’s mindset is to pit people against one another based on caste, religion, region, and community—only to continue his exploitative agenda.”

Calling on people to reject Jagan’s return to power, Rao said, “The democratic institutions and values were systematically dismantled under his leadership. It is time for the people to decide that there should be no second chance for him.”
Rao, who announced his political foray, clarified that his entry into public life is driven by a commitment to serve the oppressed and to stand against injustice. “I am entering politics not for power or position, but to correct wrongs, raise awareness, and help guide society toward a better future,” he said.
“Politics, in my view, is about understanding society’s needs, addressing past mistakes, and leading responsibly—not about power or personal gain,” he asserted.
Rao confirmed that he is currently not aligned with any political party but would formally enter politics in the near future.
