Guntur: Police have intensified their investigation into the death of a party worker during Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tour in Sattenapalli by adding serious charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The worker, identified as Singayya, died after reportedly falling under Jagan’s convoy vehicle. Following forensic analysis, officials have invoked BNS Section 105, which pertains to *culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Authorities stated that this section was added after reviewing CCTV footage, drone visuals, and other video evidence, which indicated that the incident was not merely accidental. Under BNS 105, if found guilty, the punishment can include imprisonment ranging from five to ten years or even life imprisonment, depending on the severity of the act. This section is classified as non-bailable.

In addition, BNS Section 49 has also been invoked in the case, which deals with *abetment or instigation* of a criminal act. Initially, the case was filed under BNS Section 106(1), which covers deaths due to negligence, but with new findings, the scope of the investigation has broadened.

The revised charges apply to all named accused, including former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Police sources say the case will proceed based on the collected forensic and visual evidence, and further legal action will be taken as warranted.
