Hyderabad: Prominent hotel business owners in Hyderabad have come under the scrutiny of the Income Tax (IT) Department. Acting on allegations of large-scale tax evasion, IT officials launched widespread raids on Tuesday morning at several key locations in the city.
Search operations are underway at the residences and offices of well-known food and hospitality establishments, including the owners of Pista House and Shah Ghouse Hotel. According to sources, the IT Department has deployed more than 50 teams to carry out simultaneous inspections across multiple sites, covering residential properties, administrative offices and business outlets linked to the hotel groups.
Officials are examining suspected irregularities in tax payments and large cash transactions. They are reportedly gathering crucial financial documents, digital records and locker details as part of the investigation. More information on the raids is expected to surface as the inquiry progresses.
