In the aftermath of recent attacks in Iran, widespread damage has been reported to civilian infrastructure, including the education sector, with nearly 1,300 schools affected. The impact has been particularly severe in key provinces such as Tehran, Kermanshah, Isfahan, and Hormozgan, disrupting normal academic activities across large parts of the country.
The Iranian government has initiated large-scale restoration efforts to revive the damaged educational infrastructure. Education Minister Alireza Kazemi stated that repair works in 775 schools have already been completed, while reconstruction of the remaining heavily damaged schools is expected to be finished by October. Authorities have prioritized restoring safe learning environments for students at the earliest.
Despite the prevailing security concerns, educational activities have been sustained through alternative arrangements. Offline classes were conducted in relatively safer regions, while online learning platforms were activated in areas considered high-risk. The government also expanded digital learning support to ensure continuity of education during the crisis period.
In addition, the “Iranian Television School” has played a significant role in delivering academic content to students nationwide. To address the psychological impact of the conflict, authorities have also introduced counseling services for students and teachers, aiming to reduce trauma and stress caused by the ongoing situation.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials have accused the United States and Israel of carrying out missile strikes targeting civilian areas, including schools, allegedly violating international law. Reports suggest that such attacks have resulted in significant casualties, including children and women teachers, further escalating tensions. The Iranian government has reiterated that restoring the education system and ensuring uninterrupted learning remains its top priority.
