Dublin: Amid a spate of physical attacks targeting Indian nationals in Ireland, the Indian Embassy has issued safety guidelines urging citizens to avoid deserted areas and take precautionary measures while traveling. The embassy has also advised contacting its helpline (0899423734) or email ([cons.dublin@mea.gov.in](mailto:cons.dublin@mea.gov.in)) in case of emergencies.

The advisory follows a July 19 incident in Tallaght, near Dublin, where Dr. Santosh Yadav was brutally assaulted by a group of local youths in a suspected racially motivated attack. The victim sustained injuries to his chest, legs, and arms before being hospitalized. A video posted by Yadav on social media went viral, highlighting increasing racial attacks across buses, residential areas, and streets in Ireland.

Indian Ambassador Akhilesh Mishra condemned the incident, describing it as “shocking,” and confirmed that the embassy is in touch with the victim’s family while providing necessary support. Irish police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Protests have also erupted, criticizing the Irish government for inadequate action against such assaults. Another recent case involved an Indian worker in Dublin who was stripped, beaten, and robbed by local youths, further heightening safety concerns for the Indian community.
