New Delhi: India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully test-fired the intermediate-range Agni Prime missile from a rail-based mobile launcher, marking a significant achievement for the country’s defense capabilities.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced that the medium-range missile, with an estimated range of nearly 2,000 kilometers, was launched for the first time from a rail platform. He congratulated DRDO, the Strategic Forces Command (SFC), and the armed forces for the successful execution of the test.

The Agni Prime missile is capable of reaching any target within a 2,000-kilometer range and can travel along the railway network, enabling rapid deployment to sensitive border areas. Equipped with an advanced navigation system, it can strike enemy installations with high precision while evading radar detection.
