India celebrated a historic victory at the Paris Olympics with Manu Bhaker winning the bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol shooting final. Bhaker’s stellar performance earned her third place with a score of 221.7 points, making her the first Indian woman to achieve this feat in the women’s pistol shooting category at the Olympics.
In the final, South Korean shooters Oh Yee Jin and Kim Ye-je claimed gold and silver with scores of 243.2 and 241.3 points, respectively. Bhaker expressed her joy over the achievement, stating, “India will win more medals.”
In the men’s 10m air pistol event, Arjun Babuta also reached the final, finishing seventh with a score of 630.1 points. This promising performance adds to India’s growing presence and success in Olympic shooting events.
