Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, the Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued a critical advisory urging Indian nationals in Iran to remain calm and exercise caution. The advisory comes in the wake of recent military escalations between the two nations, which have raised security concerns across the region.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Indian Embassy advised all Indian citizens and persons of Indian origin in Iran to stay alert, avoid non-essential travel, and remain in contact with the embassy. “Follow local safety guidelines and updates provided through the embassy’s official social media handles,” the advisory read. The embassy also posted a Google Form for Indian nationals to register their personal details and shared emergency helpline numbers for assistance.

The advisory follows Israel’s large-scale airstrikes on Friday targeting Iranian nuclear, military, and weapons facilities. In retaliation, Iran launched counterattacks, further intensifying the conflict. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the objective of the strikes is to dismantle Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure, adding that the operations are “just the beginning.” The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) clarified that Iranian civilians are not targets and urged residents near weapons manufacturing units to evacuate immediately.
