Hyderabad: Former MP and Congress leader Ranjith Reddy came under scrutiny as Income Tax (IT) officials carried out extensive raids at his residences and offices on Tuesday, creating significant political and business attention. The operation began early morning across multiple locations in Hyderabad, including Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, SR Nagar, Suraram, and Nallur, with 30 IT teams conducting simultaneous inspections.
The raids are linked to Ranjith Reddy’s financial dealings with the DSR Group of Construction, amid suspicions of major irregularities in tax payments and large-scale business transactions. Alongside Ranjith Reddy, searches were conducted at the homes and offices of DSR Group CEO Satyanarayana Reddy, MD Sudhakar Reddy, and Executive Director Prabhakar Reddy. Authorities reviewed records related to payments, dues, and major projects, and seized hundreds of documents for further investigation.
The IT operation extended beyond Hyderabad to Telangana and Karnataka, targeting DSR projects, including the Filmnagar-based DSR The World. This 14.45-acre development comprises nine towers and 344 units, with individual plots valued between ₹12–15 crore. The department has reportedly secured critical project documents and digital data. Officials stated that the new findings could reveal additional financial irregularities, while full details of the raids are expected once the Income Tax Department issues an official statement.
