The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has issued a rain alert for multiple districts across Telangana, forecasting scattered thunderstorms and rainfall over the next three days. This development comes amid rising temperatures across the state, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of a further increase in maximum temperatures by 2 to 3°C during this period.
According to officials, a surface circulation associated with a low-pressure area over the west-central Bay of Bengal is currently active and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. A trough stretching from western Rajasthan to coastal Andhra Pradesh via eastern Rajasthan is also influencing weather patterns. In addition, a cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha persists up to 0.9 km altitude, while another trough from sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim extends to the west-central Bay of Bengal at an elevation of 3.1 km.
These combined systems are expected to trigger thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and lightning in several regions of Telangana.
