Heavy rains continue to cause widespread flooding across several states in India, severely impacting daily life with shortages of food, drinking water, and shelter. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings predicting persistent heavy rainfall and stormy winds until August 9 across northern, eastern, western, and central India. Northeastern and eastern states are expected to experience heavy to extremely heavy rains during this period, while Tamil Nadu and Kerala may witness wind speeds of 40–50 km/h on August 5.

Delhi and neighboring Noida saw heavy downpours on Sunday morning, leading to waterlogging and significant traffic disruptions. The IMD forecasts that weather conditions in the national capital will remain challenging until August 9. States including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to receive heavy rainfall with thunderstorms from August 4 to 9.

Arunachal Pradesh is forecast to have heavy rain on August 4, 6, and 9, while Assam and Meghalaya could see extremely heavy rains on August 4 and between August 7 and 9. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar are also expected to witness extremely heavy rainfall during this period.
