The Telangana High Court has recently mandated that IAS officers must report to their respective cadre states. In compliance with this directive, IAS officers Ronald Ross, Amrapali, Vakati Karuna, and Vani Prasad reported to Chief Secretary Neerab Kumar on Thursday. The officers submitted their joining reports at the state secretariat in Velagapudi. Following this, they paid a courtesy visit to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Curiosity Surrounds Department Assignments for New IAS Officers
There is significant interest regarding the specific departments that will be assigned to the four IAS officers now stationed in Andhra Pradesh. Particularly, there is speculation about which department Amrapali, known for her dynamic approach, will lead. Amrapali previously served in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), where she oversaw affairs related to southern states for an extended duration. Following her tenure there, the Telangana government appointed her as the Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
Amrapali Expected to Join Pawan Kalyan’s Team
Sources indicate that Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is set to integrate Amrapali into his team. Official orders regarding this appointment are expected to be released within the next two days. It is noteworthy that Pawan Kalyan has previously appointed Mailavarapu Krishnateja, a Telugu IAS officer from the Kerala cadre, as his Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Amrapali’s expertise is anticipated to be utilized within Pawan Kalyan’s department, benefiting from her extensive knowledge of the state’s dynamics, given that she hails from Prakasam district.
