HYDERABAD: The HYDRAA has taken a significant decision to curb loans from banks for illegal constructions. An action plan has been initiated to prevent banks from providing loans for unauthorized buildings. HYDRAA Chief Ranganath is scheduled to meet with bankers within two days.
In this context, HYDRAA has sent letters to both public and private sector banks, outlining plans to restrict illegal constructions in buffer zones and FTL (Flood Tenure Land) areas. Clear directives will be issued to banks regarding this matter. Ranganath has also established a special legal team for this initiative. Reports indicate that HYDRAA has prepared a list of recently demolished buildings and the banks that granted loans for these constructions. Ranganath has expressed serious concerns over loans being granted for constructions in water bodies.
Demolition drives have resumed in the Ameenpur municipality. Municipal officials are taking a firm stance against illegal constructions. Seven structures built on government land under survey number 993 were demolished as part of this crackdown. Authorities have identified cases of fraudulent notarizations being conducted without proper approvals. The Ameenpur Tahsildar stated that demolitions are being carried out only after providing prior notice to the property owners.
Tahsildar Radha mentioned that the revenue department has been fighting against illegal constructions since 2022, noting that property owners have repeatedly ignored previous demolition orders. She highlighted the demolition of three large buildings under survey number 164 in Kishtareddipet and 26 illegally constructed houses in Patelguda under survey numbers 12 and 208. She also mentioned that actions will be taken against five more houses soon.
