Hyderabad: In a first for the city, Hyderabad will soon have its own artificial beach, providing residents and tourists with a unique recreational destination. While the city has long been known for its international-level attractions, it has lacked a beach, forcing residents to travel to Goa, Visakhapatnam, Kerala, or even abroad to enjoy a coastal experience. The new development aims to bring the beach experience to the city itself.
The artificial beach will be constructed in Kotwal Village (Adhuganj-Kotwali area) with government approval. The project, costing approximately Rs. 225 crore, will span 35 acres and is scheduled to begin construction in December. Developed under a public-private partnership model, the initiative is expected to give Hyderabad’s tourism sector a significant boost while offering a modern leisure destination for city residents.
The beach will feature a range of amenities, including floating villas, luxury hotels, wave pools, state-of-the-art theaters, and food courts offering diverse cuisines. These facilities are designed to establish the beach as both a tourist attraction and a luxury leisure destination. The government expects the project to create new employment opportunities, drive economic growth, and reduce the need for Hyderabadis to travel elsewhere for a beach experience.
