A tragic incident unfolded in Chicago, USA, where Akshit Reddy, a 26-year-old from Katedan, Hyderabad, drowned while swimming in Lake Michigan. The incident occurred on July 21 but has only recently come to light.
According to sources, Akshit Reddy, who had been studying and working in Chicago for the past three years, went swimming in the lake with two friends. While one friend remained on the shore, Akshit and another friend swam to a stone in the lake. On their return, Akshit reportedly became fatigued and drowned. His friend was rescued by local bystanders.
The police have recovered Akshit Reddy’s body. The deceased’s remains were transported to Hyderabad, arriving on July 27. The last rites were conducted in his native village, Addakulu, on July 28. The incident is under investigation by local authorities.
