Hyderabad: A 25-year-old man, identified as Ramireddy from Hyderabad, was rescued by the Disaster Response Force (DRF) while attempting to end his life by jumping into Durgam Cheruvu from the Madhapur cable bridge.

The incident occurred while DRF personnel were clearing floodwater drainage holes on the bridge. They spotted Ramireddy preparing to jump and acted swiftly to prevent the suicide attempt. He was immediately pulled to safety and handed over to the Madhapur police.

According to preliminary reports, Ramireddy, who is married and has a daughter, had become addicted to alcohol, leading to frequent domestic disputes. His wife, along with their child, had recently left him, which reportedly pushed him into emotional distress and prompted the suicide attempt. Madhapur police later handed him over to his sister and arranged for psychological counseling.
