A proposed high-speed bullet train corridor between Hyderabad and Chennai is set to pass through Amaravati, according to a draft plan prepared by officials. The route is expected to run via the western bypass and N6 road in Amaravati. Once completed, the project will significantly reduce travel time between the three cities and will be developed using advanced technology.
In a parallel development, the central government has approved a new 57-kilometre railway line connecting Errupalem in Telangana to Namburu. This project aims to link Amaravati with the national railway network, improving connectivity to major cities across both northern and southern India.
A key highlight of the project is the construction of a nearly 3-kilometre-long iconic railway bridge over the Krishna River. The bridge is expected to become one of the largest railway structures in Amaravati and a notable engineering landmark. Additionally, a multi-modal cargo station is planned near Paritala, which is likely to enhance freight movement and contribute to regional economic development.
