The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall across parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Tuesday. Officials attributed the rainfall to surface circulation and the influence of the Droni system, warning that several districts could experience showers accompanied by strong winds. In Andhra Pradesh, districts including Srikakulam, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Polavaram, Kurnool, and Nandyal are expected to see rainfall, with some areas likely to witness thunderstorms.
In addition, light rains are forecast in Vizianagaram, Manyam, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, and Anantapur districts. Citizens have been advised to avoid outdoor activities during thunderstorms and exercise caution while traveling. Severe gusty winds are expected in Parvathipuram Manyam and Polavaram, while Vizianagaram, East Godavari, and Eluru districts may also experience strong winds. Authorities further reported that eight mandals could face severe gusty winds, and 13 additional mandals may see moderate effects.
Telangana is also likely to witness rainfall, with Hyderabad expecting showers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in several areas. Officials warned that strong winds could impact normal life, urging residents to take necessary precautions.
The region experienced heavy rains on Monday evening in Hyderabad, which caused thunderstorms and lightning, disrupting daily life. Areas including Madapur, Jubilee Hills, and Banjara Hills recorded significant downpours, while Manikonda, Gachibowli, Yousufguda, Film Nagar, Rajendranagar, Attapur, and Aramghar also witnessed heavy rainfall.
The downpour led to major traffic congestion across the city, creating difficulties for commuters. Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow safety advisories during severe weather conditions.
