Hyderabad: A fresh wave of political turbulence has struck the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), with senior party leader and MLC K. Kavitha’s dissatisfaction reportedly creating unrest within the party’s top leadership. According to party sources, Kavitha’s differences with working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) have reached a point where BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) is struggling to mediate a resolution.
Amid these internal developments, senior leader and former minister T. Harish Rao has reportedly been entrusted with the responsibility of resolving the discord. Sources said Harish Rao has held four meetings with KCR over the past week, with discussions taking place at the former chief minister’s farmhouse in Erravelli.
The Kavitha-KTR row has triggered speculation over whether the situation could politically favour Harish Rao within the party. Meanwhile, reports indicate that Kavitha has not been responding to phone calls from either KCR or KTR, further intensifying concerns over the extent of the rift.
In addition to discussing the internal crisis, KCR and Harish Rao are also said to be reviewing the political fallout of the notices issued in connection with the Kaleshwaram project. Party sources confirmed that a serious discussion is underway between the two leaders regarding Kavitha’s role and future within the BRS.
