Hyderabad:  BRS MLA Harish Rao has criticized the Congress government for failing to release fee reimbursements, jeopardizing the education and future of thousands of students. Rao alleged that while the state government is quick to clear bills for large contractors, it has neglected the fee reimbursement dues for degree colleges, leaving six lakh students’ futures uncertain.

Rao pointed out that the Congress government’s failure to clear the pending fee reimbursements has disrupted students’ education, as the delay has led to significant financial struggles for educational institutions. He emphasized that the late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s initiative to support students through fee reimbursement was successfully continued by the then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), ensuring that students’ futures were not compromised during challenging times, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

The BRS MLA also criticized the government for failing to conduct degree exams on time, which has led to third-year students losing eligibility for various competitive exams like PGECET, LAWCET, and others. Despite private colleges expressing concern over the delay in exams, Rao accused the government of ignoring the issue and failing to act.

Rao further highlighted that the Congress government had failed to fulfill promises made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Finance Minister Batti Vikramarka, who assured the payment of pending reimbursements and conducting exams within a set timeline. He called these promises empty and criticized the government’s lack of action.

In a tweet, Harish Rao demanded the immediate release of pending fee reimbursements and called for the timely conduct of degree exams to safeguard students’ futures. He urged the state government to prioritize students’ education and ensure their future is not compromised.
