The Guntur court has granted bail to actor and writer Posani Krishna Murali in a CID-related case. The court, which had postponed its verdict on Wednesday, reviewed the bail petition on Friday and issued the orders for his release.
Despite an earlier bail order, Posani remained in judicial custody after the CID secured a PT warrant. He had been in remand at Narasaraopet jail for the past month. Citing health concerns, he filed a fresh bail petition, which was examined and approved by the Guntur court.

Posani’s legal team had approached the Guntur CID court seeking his release. The court, after hearing arguments from both sides, had initially reserved its judgment for March 21. Meanwhile, CID officials took Posani into custody on Tuesday from Guntur district jail, conducted medical examinations at GGH, and questioned him at their office before presenting him before the Special Judicial Magistrate for Prohibition and Excise. Following this, he was sent back to jail.
Posani was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police on February 27 from his residence at My Home Bhooja Apartments in Raidurg. He was later transferred to Andhra Pradesh for further legal proceedings. Multiple cases were registered against him in Anantapur, Narasaraopet, Chittoor, Tirupati, Krishna, West Godavari, Bapatla, and Annamayya districts over alleged derogatory remarks against TDP chief Chandrababu, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh during the previous YSRCP government. His recent arrest was linked to a case filed at the Obulavaripalli police station in Annamayya district.
