Hderabad: Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh on Friday delivered sharp criticism of the Telangana BJP leadership, alleging corruption and claiming that the actions of certain party leaders have caused significant damage. Speaking to the media ahead of the Assembly sessions beginning Saturday, he confirmed his attendance but emphasized that, as an independent MLA, he now enjoys greater freedom than before.
Raja Singh stated that earlier he needed party directives to speak in the Assembly, but now no one can control him. He highlighted widespread dissatisfaction among BJP MPs and MLAs with the state leadership, citing the recent Chevella MP controversy as an example. He accused some leaders of sabotaging the party’s prospects despite opportunities to come to power.
On rejoining the BJP, Raja Singh clarified that he would only return if called by the party’s national leadership, adding that he has received no communication from Delhi so far. He warned that local issues would need to be addressed before he considers rejoining.
Raja Singh also criticized Assembly discussions on the Kaleshwaram project and BC Bills, calling them distractions from public attention. He demanded the removal of Muslims from the BC reservation quota and challenged the government to refer the Kaleshwaram project issue to the CBI.
The Telangana Legislative Assembly and Council sessions commence Saturday, with key agenda items including the Justice P.C. Ghosh Commission report on the Kaleshwaram project and the proposed 42% BC reservation in local body elections. Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, and Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj reviewed arrangements, facilities, and security measures with senior state government and police officials.
