Hyderabad: In a major development that has sparked fresh political tremors in Telangana, BJP’s Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh made startling remarks against his own party, alleging ongoing collusion between BJP and BRS leaders.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Raja Singh claimed that BRS MLC K. Kavitha’s recent comments about BJP’s alleged attempts to merge BRS during her incarceration are “100% true.” Kavitha had alleged that emissaries from BJP approached her while she was in jail, proposing a merger if offered a significant package.
Backing her claims, Raja Singh said, “If a big enough package is offered, several BJP leaders are ready to join hands with BRS.” He further alleged that BRS leadership is playing a decisive role in selecting BJP candidates for the upcoming elections.
“BJP has lost multiple elections in Telangana due to covert understanding with BRS. Everyone in the party knows why we are not winning here,” the MLA said, adding that most party workers are afraid to speak out due to fear of disciplinary action.
Raja Singh’s statements have raised serious concerns within BJP’s Telangana unit and are likely to intensify internal debates ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections.
