Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has criticized the TDP for allegedly attempting to tarnish the sanctity of the Tirumala Mahaprasadam, stating that the Supreme Court has delivered a strong reprimand to the party. He accused TDP of trying to spread falsehoods and alleged that their claims regarding contamination in the sacred laddu were an attempt to deceive the public.
Reddy welcomed the Supreme Court’s intervention, stating that the court’s stance has been well-received by the public and Hindu organizations globally, many of which had expressed concern over the controversy. He condemned the statements made by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, questioning how such allegations regarding the use of animal fat in the Mahaprasadam could be made without concrete evidence, especially when the Executive Officer had already provided clarity on the issue.
The former TTD chairman also criticized certain media outlets for what he described as “false propaganda” aimed at defaming the sacred offering, noting that misinformation had been spread suggesting the prasadam had been tainted.
Reddy further stated that despite repeated warnings not to drag religious matters into controversies, the TDP proceeded recklessly. He accused the Chief Minister of making baseless claims without filing a formal case or conducting a proper investigation. Drawing sharp comparisons, he remarked that the statements were akin to those made under the influence, highlighting the inappropriateness of such remarks from a person in a position of power.
Concluding his remarks, Reddy emphasized that the Supreme Court’s timely questioning was seen as a reflection of divine justice, asserting that truth would prevail. He also condemned both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, alleging that their comments had attempted to undermine the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara, and claimed that Hindus across the country were dismayed by their actions.
