Hyderabad: Senior political leader and former Nagar Kurnool MP Manda Jagannadham passed away on Sunday following a heart attack. He was undergoing treatment at NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad, where he breathed his last in the evening.
Jagannadham, a prominent figure in Telangana politics, represented Nagar Kurnool in the Lok Sabha four times. Over his political career, he was associated with multiple parties, including the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Congress, BRS, and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Born in Itikyala village of Nagar Kurnool district, Jagannadham pursued a career in medicine, completing his M.S. degree before entering politics. He is survived by his wife Savitri, two sons, and a daughter.
Manda Jagannadham began his political career with the TDP, where he served as a politburo member. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Nagar Kurnool three times on a TDP ticket in 1996, 1999, and 2004. In 2009, he won the seat as a Congress candidate.

In the 2014 elections, he contested as a BRS candidate but lost. He did not receive a ticket in the 2019 parliamentary polls.
In July 2022, then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao appointed Jagannadham as Telangana’s special representative in Delhi. He later left the BRS to rejoin Congress before eventually joining the BSP in 2024.
Jagannadham’s death marks the end of a long political career that saw him transition through multiple parties and play a key role in regional politics. His contributions to Nagar Kurnool’s development and his influence in Telangana’s political landscape will be remembered.
