The Kodangal Court has approved two days of police custody for former BRS MLA Patnam Narendra Reddy in connection with the assault case on a district collector during the Lagcherla incident. The court directed that the interrogation, scheduled for the next two days, be conducted in the presence of a lawyer. Currently, Narendra Reddy is lodged in Charlapalli Jail following his arrest in the case.
High Court Rejects Plea to Quash Charges
Narendra Reddy had approached the Telangana High Court seeking to quash the cases filed against him over the Lagcherla violence. The High Court dismissed his plea, declining to overturn the lower court’s orders. Instead, it directed the lower court to evaluate his bail petition on its merits.

Named as Prime Accused
Narendra Reddy has been named as the prime accused (A1) in the case, with police alleging his involvement in the conspiracy. His arrest, which occurred while he was jogging at KBR Park, sparked significant attention after videos of the incident went viral on social media.
Although his initial bail plea was rejected, the High Court later granted him bail, offering temporary relief amidst ongoing legal proceedings.
