A major fire broke out in an apartment complex in the Kokhra area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, reportedly triggered by a short circuit in a sixth-floor flat. The flames quickly spread throughout the building, prompting a panic evacuation by residents.
Several people were trapped inside, while others managed to flee from their flats. Firefighters rushed to the spot and worked relentlessly to bring the blaze under control. In a dramatic rescue operation, children were passed down floor by floor through human chains, while others, including women and kids, jumped from balconies into safety nets set up by emergency personnel.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. Visuals of residents leaping from upper floors into the nets have since gone viral on social media, drawing praise for the quick response of rescue teams.
