A deadly explosion occurred at an ordnance factory in Bhandara district, Maharashtra, on Friday, January 24, claiming the lives of eight workers and injuring six others. Rescue operations are currently ongoing, with authorities fearing the death toll may increase.

The explosion, which took place around 10 AM, originated in the RK Branch section of the factory, causing the roof to collapse and trapping 12 workers inside. While two individuals were rescued, 10 remain trapped. Firefighting teams and ambulances arrived at the scene promptly, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has joined the rescue efforts.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, with authorities noting that smoke from the blast was visible from a distance. Police have filed a case and are conducting inquiries into the incident.
In response to the tragedy, Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole attributed the explosion to the failure of the Modi government, calling for accountability.
