Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) organised a welcome ceremony for the new students of Diploma in Yogic Sciences (DYSc) on the auspicious occasion of Teacher’s Day in its premises.
Yoga and Ayurveda Experts illuminated the new batch of DYSc with their wisdom. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, experts emphasized the pivotal role of teachers in the field of Yoga.
Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, VC, NIA, Ministry of Ayush, Jaipur graced the program as the Chief Guest along with Prof. Sudipta Rath, Dean, Interdisciplinary Courses and IT In-Charge, NIA, Jaipur. Dr. Kashinath Samgandi, Director, MDNIY presided over the program.
Prof Sanjeev Sharma, Director, NIA Jaipur reflected on the importance of Guru in our life. He said, “We have a tradition of Gurukul where Guru not only taught on the subjects but also about life.” He further elaborated that teacher enters the mind of his students through the heart. We learn from the wrong as well as those who are right. We should be teachers as well as pupils so that the process of learning is continued.”
He further mentioned that India is a land of spirituality. The energy of the Institute is unprecedented which can be used for the betterment of the society, nation and the world as a whole. He also commended the role of MDNIY for International Day of Yoga.
Dr Kashinath Samagandi, while highlighting MDNIY’s various achievements, said, “This year, we are going to prepare modules for all the NCDs (Non-Communicable Diseases), which will be published by WHO itself.”
Prof. Sudipt Rath emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes to build confidence, noting that students grow through these experiences. He highlighted Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former Vice President of India, as a renowned Yoga teacher who believed that Yoga leads to consciousness, a core principle in Yoga philosophy. Prof. Rath also stressed the need to propagate the philosophy of Yoga, where India excels globally.
The program witnessed participation from the students as well as the faculty members.
