Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its investigation into the Bhudan and Maheshwaram land issues in Telangana, leading to significant raids in the Old City. ED officials have raided multiple residences, including those of key individuals allegedly involved in the illegal sale of nearly 100 acres of Bhudan land.

The investigation targets Munawar Khan and Khadeer Unnisa, who are accused of illegally occupying and selling Bhudan land through unauthorized layouts. These individuals allegedly transferred around 100 acres of land to private buyers. The raids also covered properties linked to Sharphan and Sukur, with a focus on transactions related to the IPL company, which has been accused of facilitating illegal land sales involving several IAS and IPS officers.

Previously, the ED had questioned former IAS officer Amoy Kumar in connection with the case. The raids also took place in areas like Yakutpura and Santosh Nagar, where properties linked to the accused individuals are located.

In addition to the raids, the ED has seized key documents and transaction records during their operations. The case involves about 103 acres of Bhudan land in Maheshwaram Mandal, Rangareddy District, which has been the subject of disputes. Reports suggest that approximately 50 acres of this land have been encroached upon and subdivided into plots for illegal sale. The transactions, which are currently under judicial review, have been suspended by the court.

The ED’s investigation is now focused on uncovering the legitimate owners of the land, tracing illegal transfers, and examining the role of the IPL company and its connection to Sukur in these transactions.
