In a significant move in the high-profile Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth approximately Rs 300 crore belonging to Parvatamma, wife of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The attached assets include 142 properties under her name, as part of an ongoing investigation into the case, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The ED’s decision follows allegations that MUDA, during Siddaramaiah’s tenure as Chief Minister, allocated valuable land to his family. Several of these properties were initially acquired by MUDA for development purposes and later reassigned to Parvatamma. The controversy led social activists to file complaints with the Governor, prompting an inquiry into the matter.

Following these allegations, Lokayukta police registered a case and launched an investigation. The ED stepped in after claims of money laundering surfaced in the scam, registering a case based on the Lokayukta police FIR. The ED’s move to attach assets belonging to Siddaramaiah and his family marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
