Actress Sai Pallavi’s absence from several promotional events for her upcoming film Thandel has raised questions, prompting responses from both the film’s producer Allu Aravind and director Chandoo Mondeti. According to Mondeti, Sai Pallavi has been battling fever and cold for the past few days. Despite her illness, she had attended several promotional events, which exacerbated her condition. Doctors have advised her to take at least two days of bed rest to recover.

Thandel, which stars Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles, is set for release on February 7. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film is based on a real-life story of fishermen, set in the backdrop of Srikakulam. Sai Pallavi plays the role of a woman waiting anxiously for her lover, who has gone to sea for a hunt. The film has generated significant anticipation, especially after the success of the previous collaboration between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in Love Story. The trailer and songs released so far have also piqued the audience’s interest.
Produced by Bunny Vasu under the Geetha Arts banner, Tandel is one of the most expensive projects in Naga Chaitanya’s career, with a budget of approximately Rs 75 crore. The film also stars Prakash Belawadi, Karunakaran, and others in pivotal roles. The film has passed its censor certification with a U/A rating and has a runtime of 2 hours and 32 minutes.
