Telangana Rakshana Sena president K. Kavitha declared that her party would officially field a candidate in the Khairatabad assembly by-election. Slamming defection politics, she indirectly criticised Danam Nagender’s conduct, saying it was unjustifiable for someone to win as an MLA on one party’s ticket and then contest as an MP on another party’s ticket.
On the Election Commission’s ongoing voter list revision, Kavitha alleged that criticism was mounting over votes being deleted under the guise of “clerical errors,” claiming that discussions were circulating among the public suggesting this was a conspiracy aimed at appeasing the BJP.
Expressing anguish over the successive deaths of children at Adilabad RIMS, she said the education and healthcare sectors in the state were derailing and demanded that the government take immediate corrective steps. She noted that beds were unavailable even at major hospitals such as NIMS and Niloufer despite ministers personally calling on behalf of patients. She further alleged that the Congress government had failed to allocate the minimum required budget for about 11 health schemes and had not yet released pending Aryogyasri dues.
Criticising ministers for neglecting government hospitals, Kavitha suggested that district collectors should regularly inspect hostels and government hospitals, adding that her party would also visit government hospitals across every district to assess the situation. She questioned how the Chief Minister and ministers could claim they would transform Telangana into “Singapore” or “Dallas” when so many young lives were being lost, alleging that 70 percent of central ITDA funds had gone unspent and recalling that a proposal to provide mid-day meal facilities at Koti Hospital had been blocked during the previous BRS regime.
Kavitha also strongly denied allegations concerning her farmhouse, clarifying that it was neither encroached land nor inam or assigned land, and that it did not fall within the FTL limits, adding that every detail of her assets had been clearly declared in her election affidavit. She accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of levelling baseless allegations against her and other opposition leaders to divert public attention from real issues, and questioned why no action had been taken previously when leaders visited the farmhouses of KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao.
