MLC Kavitha faced another setback as the Delhi High Court denied her bail in the CBI and ED cases related to the liquor policy scam. Kavitha, who had recently petitioned the High Court seeking bail, saw her plea dismissed after the court heard arguments and rejected her request. She was arrested in March this year in connection with the liquor scam and is currently in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
Previously, Kavitha had sought bail from the Rouse Avenue court, but her applications were dismissed on May 6. She subsequently appealed the trial court’s decision in the Delhi High Court. Among the 50 accused in the case, Kavitha is the sole woman. Her lawyer argued for bail, presenting her case before the court alongside the arguments from the CBI and ED. After deliberation, the court reserved its verdict until July 1, ultimately leading to another disappointment for Kavitha as the Delhi High Court also denied her bail plea.
