Iran’s embassy has delivered a sharp counter to US President Donald Trump, who had recently warned of completely destroying Iran, not through a direct statement but by sharing a mass action video clip of Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna on social media. The clip, in which Balakrishna challenges “We are ready, are you ready?”, was posted by the Iranian embassy as a striking response to Trump’s remarks.
Using Balakrishna’s powerful screen presence and attitude, the Iranian embassy sought to signal, in an unconventional manner, that Iran would not sit quietly if underestimated and was ready for anything. In the scene shared, Balakrishna deflects bullets fired at him, a moment believed to symbolise Iran’s message that just as the US attacked Iran and expended its weapons, Iran would turn them back.
