Telangana Chief Minister CM Revanth will participate in the Mumbai Climate Week, scheduled from February 17 to 19 in India’s financial capital, Mumbai. He is set to depart tonight from Shamshabad Airport to attend the summit, where he will highlight Telangana’s initiatives in environmentally sustainable governance and renewable energy adoption.
Mumbai Climate Week is India’s first large-scale, citizen- and leadership-driven environmental movement. Organized by the voluntary organization Project Mumbai with support from the Maharashtra government, the summit will bring together delegates from nearly 30 countries, industrial leaders, and global environmental experts to discuss sustainable solutions and climate action strategies.
CM Revanth aims to position Telangana as an eco-friendly industrial hub, attracting investments in solar, wind, and other renewable energy projects. He will also outline the state’s vision for balanced environmental development toward the goal of becoming a leading region by 2047. Key discussions will include the revival of the Musi River, sustainable urban planning, and incorporating expert recommendations for future city development.
The summit will provide CM Revanth an opportunity to engage with global figures, including Bill Gates, Hillary Clinton, and World Bank representatives, on environmental fund coordination. Major topics will include climate-resilient agriculture, transition from fossil fuels to green energy, urban infrastructure for extreme weather, and mitigation of rising temperatures and irregular rainfall. Following his successful investment mobilization at the Davos World Economic Forum, Revanth is expected to leverage Mumbai Climate Week to secure further investments for Telangana’s green initiatives.
