Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy convened an urgent meeting with ministers to discuss expanding the Hydra project across the state. The meeting focused on the demands for broader implementation of Hydra and sought the ministers’ opinions on subsequent actions, given the legal challenges faced by the project.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized the need for strict criminal actions against those who authorized construction in lakes and for setting guidelines to formalize the Hydra project. Notably, Hydra Commissioner Ranganath attended the meeting. Revanth Reddy also highlighted concerns about corruption, with reports of some individuals exploiting the Hydra project’s name to extort money. He urged the ACB and vigilance authorities to monitor and take stringent measures against illegal financial activities and to address complaints against revenue, municipal, and irrigation officials.
