Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has claimed that a conspiracy is underway to dominate the country under the pretext of Jamili elections. He expressed concern that certain forces aim to take control of the nation during this critical time and noted the absence of Sitaram Yechury as a significant loss in the political landscape.
Speaking at a memorial meeting for Yechury on Saturday, CM Revanth praised his contributions to politics and democracy, describing him as a prominent figure who showcased India’s legacy on democratic platforms. He recalled that every time he met Yechury, he was reminded of the late Jayapal Reddy, emphasizing that Yechury was a contemporary of Reddy in Indian politics, known for standing firm for his beliefs until his last breath.
Revanth highlighted that Yechury fought for the poor throughout his life, and the decision by his family to continue his legacy posthumously was commendable. He noted Yechury’s active role in supporting key legislation for the underprivileged during the UPA government, adding that Rahul Gandhi regarded him as a mentor. The Chief Minister lamented that Yechury’s passing represents an irreplaceable loss to the political sphere of the country.
Revanth further stated that Yechury’s absence during this crucial time is regrettable, as individuals like him are rare. He acknowledged Yechury’s significant role in active politics since his student days and urged others to draw inspiration from him in the fight against the Jamili elections.
Commenting on the current political climate, Revanth criticized the lack of response from the Prime Minister when Union ministers speak out against Rahul Gandhi, calling it indicative of a fascist approach. He asserted that allowing such rhetoric to go unchecked is detrimental to democracy.
