Hyderabad: As thousands of people travel to their native places for the Sankranti festival, severe congestion has been reported across the Telugu states. To address congestion, CM Chandrababu directed that additional buses, including school buses, be deployed to operate extra trips between urban and rural areas. DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao held a review meeting with RTC officials, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that no passenger faces difficulties in reaching their destination during the busy travel period.
Despite the deployment of extra buses, heavy congestion continues at RTC bus stations, particularly in cities such as Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati, Kurnool, Nellore, and Anantapur. Millions of people are attempting to travel to their hometowns, causing strain on the existing bus services. RTC buses, including the *Palle Velugu* service and regular buses, are running, but they are not enough to meet the demand. As a result, passengers are facing significant challenges in securing transportation.
