Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has taken a major step toward transforming Amaravati into a world-class technology center by laying the foundation for the Amaravati Quantum Valley building at Uddandarayanipalem in Thullur Mandal. The event, attended by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, is being hailed as a milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s technology history.

Speaking at the ceremony, CM Chandrababu said the state’s future rests in the hands of students and the youth, emphasizing that they have the power to create new milestones or rewrite history. “Our young generation is moving at quantum speed in technology. Our goal is to provide them the right platform to excel,” he said. He expressed confidence that the Amaravati Quantum Computing Center will be a national game-changer, similar to how Hyderabad’s Hi-Tech City transformed that city’s trajectory.

India’s First Full-Scale Quantum Computing Center
Modeled on Silicon Valley, the Amaravati Quantum Valley will be India’s first full-scale quantum computing center, aiming to rank among the world’s top five hubs. The government has allocated 50 acres for the project, with the main building covering 45,000 square feet, incorporating advanced technologies such as 3D printing and pre-engineering. Global tech giants IBM, TCS, and L&T are key partners, with IBM and TCS jointly establishing the Amaravati Quantum Innovation Center. The CM has set a target to train 100,000 quantum technology experts in the coming years.

Benefits and Incentives
The Quantum Valley will enable development of highly secure, hack-proof systems, accelerate discovery of drugs and vaccines for diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s, and allow precise prediction of natural disasters. It will also enhance the speed and security of financial and stock market analyses. In a move to encourage research, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced a ₹100-crore cash prize for any researcher from the state who wins a Nobel Prize in quantum technology.
