Chittoor: A disturbing incident was reported from Narayanapuram village in Kuppam mandal of Chittoor district, where a woman named Sirisha was allegedly tied to a tree and assaulted for failing to repay a loan. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation across the state.
Responding swiftly, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu spoke with the victim over the phone and announced ₹5 lakh in financial assistance. During the conversation, the Chief Minister sought details of the assault and enquired if Sirisha had faced similar harassment in the past. She reportedly revealed that she had experienced such intimidation on multiple occasions.

Expressing outrage, Chandrababu stated that such inhuman acts would not be tolerated and directed officials to take stringent action against the perpetrators. He also asked about the educational status of Sirisha’s children and assured government support for their studies, promising that the administration would bear the responsibility for their education.
The Chief Minister further instructed officials to remain in close contact with the victim’s family and ensure all necessary assistance is extended. He also sought a detailed report on the incident and its aftermath. The state government is taking the matter seriously, with instructions issued to ensure justice is served without delay.
