Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, during his visit to Delhi on Friday, held key discussions with Union Ministers on issues pivotal to the state’s development.
In a meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chandrababu emphasized the immediate release of Rs 15,000 crore promised for the development of Amaravati, as announced during the recent Parliamentary Budget session. He also sought the disbursement of a Rs 15,000 crore loan sanctioned by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Amaravati’s infrastructure projects. Reports indicate that Sitharaman responded positively to these requests.
The Chief Minister later met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to discuss various state-related and international matters. MP Sri Krishnadevarayulu, providing details of the meeting, stated that the Chief Minister sought Central support for the Godavari-Penna linkage project and raised concerns about immigration challenges faced by Indian students traveling to the United States.
Chandrababu highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s progressive policies, including Ease of Doing Business and Speed of Doing Business, aimed at attracting foreign investments. He urged the Union Minister to promote Andhra Pradesh as a destination for international companies, receiving assurances of cooperation from Jaishankar.
The Chief Minister also discussed reviving Singapore’s partnership in the development of Amaravati, to which Jaishankar reportedly expressed a favorable response.
