Hyderabad: In a significant ruling, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has directed that senior IAS officer Amrapali be reassigned to the Telangana cadre. The decision comes as a relief to the officer, who had earlier been transferred to Andhra Pradesh based on Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) orders issued four months ago.
Amrapali, who had previously served in Telangana, had challenged her transfer to Andhra Pradesh by filing a petition with the tribunal. She argued that she should be allowed to continue her administrative service in Telangana.
Allowing her plea, the CAT issued orders for her reassignment to Telangana, effectively setting aside the earlier DoPT directive. The ruling is seen as a notable development in the ongoing cadre allocations between the two Telugu states.
