Can Bring Chiranjeevi into BJP if He Extends an Invitation: Kishan Reddy

BJP Telangana President and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy made an interesting revelation on Sunday, stating that he is ready to invite anyone into the party — and that if he were to personally invite megastar Chiranjeevi, the actor-turned-politician would not refuse him. Speaking informally with the media, Kishan Reddy said the BJP has long-standing ties with several film personalities.

He recalled that many prominent figures like Vijayashanti, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Krishnam Raju, S. Janaki Suman, and Naresh have all been associated with the BJP in various capacities — with some even serving as ministers, and others actively campaigning for the party.

Taking a sharp jibe at the Congress, he stated, “Our real opponent is the Congress. If someone says BJP and Congress are the same, should I even bother replying to such a baseless claim?” He emphasized that the BJP is fighting against dynastic and corrupt politics, and confirmed that the party would contest the upcoming local body elections independently.

Criticizing the BRS party, Kishan Reddy questioned whether its leaders could say who the next BJP state president would be. “Everyone knows who the next president of BRS will be,” he remarked, suggesting that BRS decisions are made at the family dining table, unlike in BJP. He pointed out that BJP requires any party president aspirant to have been an active member for two terms. However, he clarified that Etela Rajender, having been elected as both MLA and MP, is exempt from this rule.

On development matters, Kishan Reddy asserted that it was the BJP that brought projects like the textile park in Telangana, the industrial park in Zaheerabad, the Turmeric Board, and the Railway Coach Factory. He criticized Congress leaders for falsely claiming credit, saying these projects were approved even before the Congress came to power. “People who take credit for our work deserve to be thrashed,” he said strongly.

Kishan Reddy reiterated the BJP’s commitment to Telangana’s development, including continued support from the Centre for the next phase of the Hyderabad Metro project.
