Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) made sharp comments regarding the upcoming Vice Presidential election, asserting that the party is not part of any coalition and that no one has approached them for support. Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, KTR categorically stated that the BRS would oppose any candidate proposed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He dismissed the entire process as mere drama.

“Rahul Gandhi or Modi are not our bosses – the people of Telangana are our only bosses,” KTR declared. He added that the BRS’s support would go only to those who ensure the supply of 2 lakh metric tonnes of urea to Telangana. KTR questioned why Revanth Reddy failed to put forward a BC (Backward Class) candidate for the Vice Presidential post, asking, “Is your love for BCs only lip service and not reflected in action?”

KTR lashed out at the Congress government, claiming that for the past two months, farmers in Telangana have been suffering due to the severe shortage of urea. He accused the state government of incompetence, pointing out that during KCR’s tenure, fertilizer stocks were prepared six months in advance, whereas the current administration has failed to make any proper planning.

He further alleged that the Congress is behaving “like an ox in the rain,” with Revanth Reddy returning from Delhi every time with “some paper given by Rahul Gandhi” instead of real solutions. KTR expressed anger that fertilizers were now being sold under police watch, while farmers are left in distress.

“The government is blind to the plight of farmers and is only engaged in petty politics,” KTR charged, further alleging that cases are being filed against those questioning government policies. He said that in every village, farmers are forced to stand in long queues for fertilizers, while the government continues to claim there is no shortage. He also alleged the possibility of Congress leaders being involved in black-market sales.

“On one hand, the Chief Minister says there is no shortage, while on the other, Congress MPs are staging dharnas in Delhi for urea. A problem that never arose in the past ten years has now surfaced under this government,” KTR remarked, launching a scathing attack on the ruling Congress.
