In the Telangana municipal elections, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) registered a commanding victory in Siricilla Municipality, securing 27 of the 39 wards and consolidating its control over the municipal chair. The Congress won only six wards, the BJP five, and an independent candidate one, highlighting BRS’s strong presence in former minister K. T. Rama Rao’s constituency.
Conversely, Vemulawada Municipality recorded a hung result, with no party reaching the required 15-seat majority to claim the municipal chair. Congress emerged as the largest party with 13 seats, while the remaining wards, won by other parties or BRS-backed candidates, will play a decisive role. The two independent victors are now key kingmakers, and their alignment will determine who assumes the chairmanship.
