BC movement leader and Rajya Sabha MP R. Krishnaiah has raised significant concerns regarding the caste survey conducted by the Telangana government. Addressing the media on Thursday, Krishnaiah highlighted several shortcomings in the survey, accusing it of excluding numerous families. He further alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was engaging in diversionary politics by involving certain BC leaders to shift attention from more pressing issues.

Krishnaiah called for amendments to the Panchayati Raj Act and demanded the implementation of 42% reservations for BCs. He warned that without legal backing for these reservations, the government would face a strong movement in opposition. He also stated that failure to implement the reservations would lead to a “Kula Samaram” (community war) against the government.

The BC leader expressed dissatisfaction with the current state government, accusing it of plotting against the BC community by deliberately reducing their population in the caste survey to deny them opportunities and reservations. He claimed that CM Revanth Reddy had turned against the BCs, intentionally diminishing their representation in the survey, which he described as part of a broader effort to politically suppress the community.

Krishnaiah further cautioned that if the government failed to revise its policies towards BCs, the state could witness widespread unrest. He urged the Telangana government to pass legislation ensuring 42% reservations for BCs. He also recalled CM Revanth Reddy’s earlier announcement in the Assembly regarding 42% reservations for BCs in local elections, questioning whether political parties like BRS and BJP would follow suit by offering similar reservations.

Krishnaiah’s remarks have sparked a broader debate regarding the issue of BC reservations in the state, intensifying scrutiny on the government’s approach to the community.
