In response to the recent flood damage in Telangana, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, has confirmed that the central government will provide assistance in accordance with established regulations. He detailed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directives and led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a team including state ministers had visited Khammam to assess the situation and support affected communities.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar reaffirmed his commitment to dismantling domes in the Secretariat if the BJP comes to power, in line with previous statements. He questioned the decision to build domes on three of the nine floors of the Secretariat and expressed dissatisfaction with the current facilities and accommodations for officials and staff.
He criticized the KCR government, noting that despite a decade in power, including his family’s tenure, it remains unclear why KCR is now conducting a Navagraha Yagam.
According to Bandi Sanjay Kumar, an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas was conducted as per the instructions of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, under the leadership of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The survey team included Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Tummlanageshwar Rao. They performed ground-level inspections, interacted with farmers, and reviewed a photo exhibition showcasing the flood damage.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar assured that the central government is prepared to provide aid based on accurate assessments and regulatory guidelines, emphasizing that the goal is to support the public beyond political considerations. He promised that aid will be allocated based on factual evaluations and adherence to regulations.
