Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) carried out surprise attacks in Pakistan’s Panjgur and Kalat regions, killing 10 soldiers and injuring 13 others. The attacks underscore the growing activities of separatist groups in Balochistan, where the BLA has been demanding independent sovereignty and escalating its armed resistance against the Pakistani government.
The BLA has also been targeting the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), alleging that the project enables Pakistan to exploit Balochistan’s natural resources. As part of this opposition, the group has attacked Chinese engineers and workers associated with the project in recent months.
